Estimates are provided for planning purposes and are not customs, tax, or legal advice. Actual charges may vary based on classification, customs assessment, carrier fees, exchange rates, and current regulations.

Estimates only — not advice

Every figure produced by Tariflo — landed cost, duty, tariffs, taxes, fees, and profitability — is an estimate intended for planning purposes only. It is not customs advice, legal advice, tax advice, or financial advice, and it should not be relied on as the sole basis for a business, purchasing, or compliance decision.

The customs authority has the final word

The duties, taxes, and fees actually owed on a shipment are determined solely by the relevant customs authority (for example, the Canada Border Services Agency or U.S. Customs and Border Protection) at the time of import. That determination can differ from any estimate produced by this tool, sometimes significantly, depending on inspection outcomes, valuation, documentation, and rules in effect on the date of entry.

Classification is not guaranteed

Tariff and duty classification (HS/HTS codes) is a genuinely complex area, and small differences in a product's description, materials, or use can change its classification and the duty rate that applies. Any HS/HTS code suggested by this tool is a starting point, not a determination — it is not a substitute for review by a licensed customs broker or for an official binding ruling from the relevant customs authority.

Exchange rates fluctuate

Calculations that involve currency conversion use exchange rates that may be delayed, approximate, or manually entered. Rates move continuously, and the rate in effect when your shipment is actually invoiced, paid, or cleared may differ from the rate used in an estimate.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for independently verifying any figures before relying on them commercially — for pricing decisions, purchase orders, customs filings, or otherwise. We disclaim liability for losses or decisions made on the basis of estimates provided by this tool. When the numbers matter, confirm them with a licensed customs broker or the relevant customs authority.
